May 30, 2009  Nashville area ponds and creeks were stormed by frog hunters Friday night, May 29th, during the 2nd Annual Back 40 Outreach Charity Frog Gigging Tournament. It was a perfect night for gigging and all teams were successful at bringing in the long-legged jumpers.Special thanks to Mid-Tenn Ford Trucks for sponsoring the event and for Jason Koch and Tom Herring for cooking up a fine breakfast. This year's tournament raised money to benefit the Kyle Hutchison Memorial Fund. Click here to see the photo galleries Here are the results: 2009 Giggin' Champion was team Short Bus: Chris McKee, Wes Collins, Brandon Kennedy and Steve Neil. Total weight = 25.3 lbs 2nd place went to team Young Kyle: Matt Dickerson, Brennen Binkley, Will T. Tenpenney, and Tyler Pennington. Total weight = 25 lbs 3rd place Team was Frawley's Forkers: Rick Frawley, William Frawley, and Jacob Frawley. Total weight = 14.2 lbs Frawley's Forkers also hauled in the tournament BIG FROG of 1.5 lbs. Total weight of all teams = 93.6 lbs That's 1.6 lbs more that last year.  2009 Back 40 Outreach Frog Giggin' Champions: Brandon Kennedy, Chris McKee, Steve Neil, and Wes Collins. Total weight = 25.3 lbs  In case you're wondering, all frogs harvested will be eaten. |
