We had a great inaugural fishing tournament this past weekend at Kentucky Lake. Thanks to Cypress Springs for the great biscuits and having dinner on the table for us Saturday night. Thanks to Lakeview Resort for...the roofs not leaking during the storm Friday night. Thanks to Hunt’s Outdoors, Academy and the TWRA for their support of the event. Thanks to the people of Henry County and the World’s Largest Fish Fry event and tattoo display. Congratulations to Aaron Kelley for his 4-second bull-ride and to Steve Neil for getting thrown from a mechanical bull and a bass boat in the same weekend. The winning team of Brummett/Nettles/Gray/K. Yates/Wheelers/Herring weighed in 5 keepers for 11.60 pounds. Lee Yates caught a 4.3 largemouth for Big Fish honors on Saturday. Tom Herring brought a 5.7 largemouth to the scales for the Big Fish on Sunday and received a plaque as the Tournament Champion. Kendle Yates won several awards for his strong desire to become an accomplished angler. Kendle, Ben Byars and I received personalized fish-measuring instruction from the TWRA as well as a certificate of completion of their on-the-water course. Other fond memories include; the .29 pound perch, crank bait-hitting geese, geese roosting on blinds, watching Lee Riley on ESPN Outdoors and the Scoutmaster with a radar gun. Thanks for a great weekend fishing. A wise man once said - "Too much of a good thing is a good thing." J.D. Blackburn 5/2/05 |
