February 2, 2006 Dear Friends of Back 40, Not long after we had finished cleaning up after our 2nd Annual Wild Game Dinner on August 23, did we realize what projects would be in store for Back 40 Outreach for the rest of 2005. Normally, we would be planning Fall hunting trips, camping trips, and bonfire extravaganzas. But, on August 29th, Hurricane Katrina made landfall and our focus turned to those in immediate need. Many thanks go out to all the friends of Back 40 Outreach that gave generously in so many ways. You immediately responded by donating money and supplies to go to relief aid. Without hesitation, you loaded your trucks and trailers with supplies and headed to the gulf coast and other areas in need. You helped organize available housing for evacuees in the Nashville area. You strained you backs while hauling countless loads of furniture for those needing a table to eat on or a bed to sleep in. Since anyone associated with Back 40 Outreach is an automatic member of the "Men with Trucks" club, hauling stuff was the main item on Back 40's agenda for several months. Work teams are still being organized to go to the gulf coast and help repair houses. If you are interested in going or organizing a work team, click here to contact Back 40 and we'll let you know of opportunities to serve. Again, thank you to all who gave. Sincerely, Back 40 Outreach ![]() The Lord definitely had a hand in helping this crew save a house from a falling tree. |
